BORN IN CHILE, SOUTH AMERICA; Karen Lorena Parker BFA
emigrated to Calgary Alberta with her Austrian-Spanish
family during the ‘73 war. Graduated from the Alberta
College of Art and Design (94); she presently resides in
Vancouver BC with her South African husband and two
children.
Watching a Grade 3 classmate paint blue clouds was the
beginning of a fascination with different styles from
abstract to realism. Karen’s technical expertise has
pursued the art of finding the basic element of beauty in
every art period. Studying fine art, illustration and
graphic design, Karen is a contemporary artist who is
equally fluid with a digital pixel as with a paintbrush.
Working objectively to create dynamic bold, iconographic
images that fit today’s cultural trends and please
today’s design savvy viewer.
